My Best R.E Learning This Year!

The reason why this is my best R.E learning is because I learn new things about God and that I learn to know  you use your taonga (gift from God )  in the church to help bring about the kingdom of God.

My Best Writing For The Year!!

The 12th of November we were all invited to go to Kohimarama beach so we can do this wonderful activity called Sailing. The Year 7 and 8 were splitted into two equal groups. Later on, the first group got into the van and headed off to Kohimarama Beach while the second group spends time with Room 6 which is next door from our classroom Room 7.

Two hours later, Mrs Tui just arrived to school and told the second group that they’re departing in two minutes. While we were on the road heading to the beach, we just started chatting and chatting until we arrived. We all had to hop into the dirty and dusty van and drove 7 minutes to Kohimarama Beach.  “Hello everyone” our instructor Reuben yelled out. “Hello Reuben” we all replied. After that we all had to go and get changed into our swimming gear. Once we got changed he told us to put on a our safety gear ( Life Jacket & and a Jacket in case we get really cold) . We had to get into partners, find a boat and stand right next to it. Our Instructor had to tell us the instructions before we go out to sea and not know what to do.  

Twenty minutes later after he explained us the instructions, he told us to take our small yacht boats to sea so we can start sailing.  After that Reuben yelled out “ IS EVERYBODY READY? “ we all replied “ YES!!! “ .  We all had to sail to the other building on the other side of the sea and come back. We had to pull this rope so we can balance the boat or else the boat will fall upside down.

1 hour later, we have to all come back and have our lunch. After our lunch we have to get changed and go back to school. It turns out that Sailing is a good sport to do.

The Reason why I chose this writing is because I used the 7 elements of writing and I used my punctuation marks.

Touch Reflection!!

Today we have learnt a lot of things from this Kiwi sport called Touch. Today I have learnt how to defend, to pass the ball properly and also I have learnt how to play proper Touch because I am not really into Touch. I have enjoyed playing Touch and I will enjoy playing it for the rest of my life.

It turns out that Touch is a really cool game to play!!

Reflection On Our Test This Morning!!

Today we had to do our P.A.T  Math Test. I was really nervous about doing this test because we might not know if we are going to fail or we are going to succeed. Once we started our test I kept on saying to myself that I will try not to fail my test I will try to succeed this test. When the test finished everyone was so glad that the test was over. We will have to wait for tomorrow because we have to do our E-Asttle Reading Test.

WRITING ABOUT MY HOLIDAY!!!

On Friday the 09th of October my Aunty told me “ Joshua and Samuel’ we will be going to the movies to watch an Australian film called “Blinky Bill “ . My Aunty told us what the movie was about,  this is what she said “ The movie is about a Kuala that tried to find his Father who had run off to the real world that had cars, shops and humans, the baby Koala did not know where he was”. So when she finished explaining what the movie was about, she said to me “ Go and have a quick shower so we can go because the movie starts at 10:25am and the time is 9:12am” .

After that we ran outside got in the car and drove to Westfield/ Manukau Mall/ Event Cinemas. Once we got there we had to go and see if the cinemas were open, while we were walking we saw that the cinemas weren’t open yet so we just went and bought some clothes and had a little walk around.

When we finished walking around we went straight to the cinemas to buy our tickets and get our seats. Once we got there we were really excited to see this movie. There was a long queue so we had to go in the Express Lane because we had booked a ticket online. They gave us a barcode and then we had to show it to the staff so they could scan it and give us our tickets.

Later on we went to and took a photo, then after the photo we went to Cinema 3 to watch Blinky Bill. We found  comfortable seats to sit on, so we sat down and ate our popcorn. The movie was 80 minutes (1 hour & 20min) long.

When the movie was finished we went and ate Mcdonalds before we headed back home. After that we went back home so we could have a sleep because the next day we would be cleaning the whole entire house.

My highlight of the day was when we went and watch the movie Blinky Bill, I hope next time we go to the movies again and watch another Australian Film because it seems that the Australian Films are really funny.

God created Families, he created families because families are close to his Heart, when he created men he said “ It is not good for men to be alone “ and when he created woman he said “ Be Fruitful and obtain and Replenish (Fill) the world”.

What do we have to say to the person who created Families?
I would say that God is Loving because he gave us a family so that my family can look after me and take care of me.

Don't you think he or she is beautiful?
God is beautiful and he is always beautiful because he created everything on earth and also I would like to say is that he is a creative and Magnificent person.

When we see something like that is it Sacramental moment?
God is bless­ful, by being blessed with a amazing family.

When we see something like that those it prompt us to think of God?
Yes, it does prompt us to think of God because when we see a family that is being so caring and loving it teaches us to be the same and makes us feel blessed it reminds us that God is around us.

How does Families remind you of God?
Families remind me of God because he created my family and also it reminds me that in the form of a family member he is always around me I feel blessed because he is part of my family, he is my Almighty Father.

TRIP TO KELLY TARLTONS!!!

On a wonderful morning the whole school went on a wonderful trip to Kelly
Tarltons. We were so lucky to go on this experience because we got the chance
to see different kind of underwater species.
I was really excited to go on this trip because this was going to be my  first time
seeing sharks, penguins and etc.
When I got to school the whole school were in the hall and practising songs for
the mass of our Feast Day. Later on some students went down to the streets to
see if our buses had arrived so we could leave for Kelly Tarltons. After that we all
had to hop in the bus and at the same time we were excited. It took us 10
minutes to get there, maybe a bit more because the bus driver went through
shortcuts and it was so long.

Later on we got to the Aquarium Kelly Tarltons, when we got there I just saw this
little house, so then I asked Catherine “ Catherine, have you been here “ she
replied “ Yes, I have, what you see is a little house, but when you go inside you
have to go way down to see the species” I replied “ Okay, this is going to be fun
After that Mrs Tui all told us to go through this little house and go down, when
she told us that I was so excited. Later on when we were still walking, this host
who was taking us down she said that we are going to through “SCOTT'S HUT “,
Scott's Hut is a copy of his hut in Antarctica, this hut is still there in Antarctica.
What I saw was food, warm clothing and many things to wear in the winter. The
reason Scott had to wear these warm things because it is cold in Antarctica and
also the temperature in Antarctica is 100% cold.
Finally we got a chance to see real penguins instead of looking at penguins
online. The penguins were so cute, there were other penguins that were
separated from the others because they are not supposed to be together with
them before they attack each other.

After that we went through this spinning tunnel, when you see it the outside is
only spinning but when there is a pathway it doesn’t spin, so we walked through
it, we had to try and stop us from spinning around.
After that very tiring experience we now went to see the other species of fish and
also the sting rays. There was this woman who went into the stingray pool and
these other cool fishes were swimming in it. She told us that she is going to feed
the stingrays, but the stingrays weren’t hungry because maybe they fed them
before she came in.

Later on we had to go through this tunnel and on top of us were fish and also on
the left and right side there were fish as well. There were stingrays, different kind
of fish, different types of sharks and also there was this creature that stays real
still. never moves, but they can only suck their food up.

Later on we went to see the seahorses, the seahorses were so cute and so
small, they were smaller than my hand. After that we went to this classroom that
someone comes in and tells us everything that happens to the sea creatures if
they are going to die, then they will give us a dried SeaHorse, a Sharks teeth and
also a sharks egg.

Later on when class was finished we all had to go outside and get ready to go
back to school to start writing about our experience.

REVOLUTION VISIT 2K15!!!

REVOLUTION VISIT!!!

On a tiring afternoon, after our Feast Day we had a talented group that visited us to tell us about cyber bullying. WHY CYBER BULLYING? because in this school we do a lot of bullying by making people crying, making people upset and also getting into fights with other people.

Later on they told us 3 important things to remember to do if someone bullies you/someone, the first one is to tell a adult if you are bullied, second one is to say sorry, say sorry so you can be friends again and the last one is to get 3 of our friends to try and stop the fight/stop the bullying that is happening.

After that they asked one person from each year level to come up and show us how talented SPX is, so they got up stood there and waited for the music to start, they gave them 10 seconds to show their cool dance moves.

There were talented people, the person that won was Justin from Room 7/Year 8, they were dancing to the song “ SILENTO “.

Later on they told us to all get up and show us how talented the teachers and students are, so we got up and got so crazy and started dancing, they were giving us tickets to go to there concert and also lollies for the rest, I got a ticket to go to their concert.

THAT VISIT MADE MY DAY A GREAT ONE!!!

On a very sunny day it was an exciting day, it was St Pius X feast day. First

thing in the morning we had to go to the church. Once we got to the church

we had to sit on the seats and wait for Father to come. We waited for

everyone to sit down so we could start our mass. The teachers and the

students were so quiet while we were waiting. After that Annalisa went up to say her introduction to welcome people to our mass, when he had finished his reading we had to stand up and sang while Father is walking in the isle, then we carried on with the mass.

After the mass we had to go to eat our massive cake that says Happy Feast day St Pius X. Once everyone was ready Mrs Tui said “ Can everyone sing a song called Happy Feast day St Pius”. After we sang the

song Mrs Tui and the year 8 girls went and cut the cake into pieces and they had to give it out to each class. Once everyone finished their cake they had to go and have morning tea. So Mrs Williams told each class to get their morning tea.

THAT WAS THE BEST FEAST DAY EVER!!!!!

Interesting News!!!

10 year old Sean Lesniak has a bright future coming ahead, he loves sharks, he wanted to catch one shark when they went fishing.

Sean wanted to dedicate his life protecting Sharks. He’s off to an impressive start. He wanted to protect sharks from being killed for their fins.

Because of his hard work, Sean was asked to be part of the discovery Channel Shark Week which runs from July 5 - 12.

Sean was explaining what a Shark Finning is, it is when the sharks have no fins and then the sharks returns to the Ocean without their fins, the sharks will be unable to move, they will sink to the bottom of the ocean and die of suffocation or eaten by other predators also he was trying to explain to banned the shark finning because it is so dangerous.

WHO AM I????

My skin colour is the colour of the rainbow, just so you know we all need to know what a rainbow is, when it rains the beautiful rainbow comes out and it shines brightly upon me, but sometimes it shines upon my friends underwater.

The things I hate is when my friends are noisy when I am trying my best to listen to my parents because sometimes I do not listen, I hate when my family does not care for and look after me and also I really hate when my friends tell bad things about me having more colourful scales every month.

I have small eyes just like a little piece of trash, I have baby teeth just like a human baby's teeth, I eat seaweed under the water just like the other fishes and also I do not go school but my friends in earth they go school to learn and become great learners.

If you didn't know what my name was, it was the Native Australian Rainbow Fish.

I am Unique, I am Special I am just myself no one judges me to do this and to do that, I am just myself I do not want to be judged I can just do whatever I want.

RAINBOW FISH STORY!!!!

Write a response to what I think about what Rainbow Fish did. Should he do it or not? Why?

I think that Rainbow Fish made a good choice to give one scale to the other fishes, why is because the other fishes were upset that Rainbow Fish didn’t give one sparkly scale to them.

3 -­ 4 Reason’s why:

1. Because he wanted to be friendly with his friends because he wanted to think about his friends instead of thinking about himself.

2. Because he wanted to show the virtue of Sharing & Loving by giving one sparkly scale to his friends.

3. Because he wanted his friends to be happy instead of crying for just one scale.

4. Because he wanted to give his scales instead of receiving new scales.

I think that Rainbow fish made good choices to give a scale to his friends because he should be giving instead of receiving because that will be showing the footsteps of Jesus and also showing the virtue of Love.

FIRST HOCKEY LESSON!!!

Reflection on Hockey

Today we had wonderful session playing Hockey, Hockey is not a popular sport here in New Zealand maybe but for me it is not. Room 7 was all in the Hall, when we were settled we saw our Hockey Instructor ( Unknown ) But I think that he is really good at playing Hockey.

Later on he was getting us into groups so that it can be equal for all of us, well I was in group #1 and the rest were split up into groups. After that we had a warmup, the warmup was to run from one side to the other. After that we were all tired from running from one side to the other. Later on we played another one it is slightly the same from running but this time it is bear crawling from one side to the other that game was sort of boring and tiring because you have to crawl with your knees up.

Later on the instructor told us to go and stand next to where the hockey bats were, the instructor told us few rules what to do and not do with the bats because it can hurt someone real hard. After that the instructor told us to practise some skills with the hockey bat so we can start learning more tricks with the hockey bats. Later on he told us that we should have a hockey game, so we were split up into 2 equal groups so we can play the game. What we have to do is that we have to play a hockey game and

whoever wins will the the winners of the day.

After that we all had to say a big THANK YOU to our instructor for coming to our school to come and teach us playing hockey, he will coming into our school for the next 4 weeks or 6 weeks to teach us to play hockey.

I really enjoyed my first lesson of playing Hockey!!

My Holiday In the Wonderful Kingdom Of Tonga!!!!

I am going to be writing about how my first day in Tonga was. When I arrived in Tonga I was so excited to be in Tonga again. When I got off the plane I was so hot and also the sun was shining so bright, it is not like this is New Zealand sometimes it and sometimes the sun shines. After that we got out of the airport and was on our way to my aunt's house the was in LongoLongo, Kolomotu'a. When we got to my aunt's house I was so bored so what I did was just to play with the dogs and take the dog for a walk. Later on I came back from my long walk with the dogs, so I came inside took a cold shower, got changed into my pyjamas and went into the room and went straight to sleep. I was just sleeping for about 5 hours and then woke up and it was still daylight, so I was thinking of something to do, suddenly something came into my head and told me what to do it told me to try and get money and walk to the shops and buy something for me to eat. So I did it straight away after 12:00pm. After that I came back and took a cold shower again and then went back to sleep and this time when I woke up it was the next day. !THE END!

During my Holiday I have been in the Kingdom Of Tonga.  The reason why I went to Tonga is because we wanted to spend time with our cousins and Aunties.  We’ve been in Tonga from the 30th of June to the 21st of July. On the 3rd of July we were invited to a concert, the concert was the Common Kings The common kings is a group of singers who sings songs and write albums for the world to listen. My family was really excited to attend this concert because I really wanted to go to this concert for a long time. So we all had a cold shower and got dressed up in our beautiful clothes and had to wait until it’s time to go. We waited and waited and “DING” the clock hit 6:00pm so I got up and ran to my parents and said “ HEY! YOU SAID WHEN THE CLOCK HIT 6:00pm I HAVE TO COME AND WAKE YOU GUYS UP, SO NOW GET UP AND GET READY” they replied “ Okay, tell everyone to get ready and get in the car so we can drive off to “ TEU FAIVA “, suddenly everyone got up and got dressed. While we were still driving to “ TEU FAIVA “ we were so excited to see the Common Kings sing there amazing albums. When we got to the Stadium we had to wait for the Common Kings to get ready.  Finally the concert started, the concert went on and on and on, it started from 6:30pm - 11:50pm, us kids were crazy and all of a sudden people were not focusing on the Common King they were actually focusing on us kids that were being so crazy and so loud. At the end of the concert we had all had to leave from the stadium because the Concert was finished, so we had to go out on the streets and try and call a taxi to come and pick us up from the Stadium. !THE END!

NATIONAL YOUNG LEADERS DAY!!!! - NYLD/15

On a lovely warm day, I and 2 other students and 2 teachers Mrs Kelway and Mrs Ringwood went to Manukau Vodafone Event Centre to go and celebrate National Young Leaders Day, NYLD is that when we go and learn stuff about what we should do to our school if we were young leaders.

After that Mrs Kelway and Mrs Ringwood arrived and I was like so proud that they arrived after me because I thought that the left without me, but luckily they came because I really wanted to go on this great experience that has been going on for 14 years and also this was my first time.

When they arrived they came straight to me and said “ Joshua are you feeling well because I heard that you were really ill” I replied “ Yes I was ill and that I couldn’t come to the meeting so I am here now ready to go to the Conference”.

Later on Mrs Kelway and Mrs Ringwood came and called us to hurry up and get into the car before we're late, so then we hopped in the car and also we were all ready to go on this long trip to Manukau, it took us 22 minutes to get from Castledine Crescent to Manukau Vodafone Event Centre.

When we arrived at Manukau I felt pretty excited because this was my first time at a conference. This is the only thing I want to all the young leaders out there “ Everyone of us can be a leader - whether that be at school, at work, in our personal life, in sports, in the community, or as a leader of ideas. We can all be someone that other people look up to. I encourage you to aim high, reach for your dreams and give it everything you’ve got. I firmly believe if you set your mind to it and you can achieve anything”.

After that we had morning tea and our lunch time and then some more celebrities came and talked about their personal life.

Later on we had to leave now, this was a awesome experience that happened in my entire life. THAT WAS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!!!

A SCARY VOICE WAS HEARD!!!!!!

NUMBER PROBLEMS:)

I have been learning how to solve a number story problem by using tidy numbers.

FIRST SWIMMING LESSON:)

KEEPING IT COOL IN THE POOL!!!

!DING! the clock hits 12:00pm, the classroom was excited because we are going to be heading to the swimming pool for a real lesson with real professional instructors.

Later on when the clock hit 12:00 the teacher (MRS POLE) told us that we will be swimming from 12:00 - 12:30 which means we get to have 30 minutes.

When we got to the courts where the pool was set-up, Pam the swimming instructor welcomed us.  She instructed us to get into the pool for a trial to see if we can swim or not. Afterward, she got us into groups, “NUMBER 1” and “NUMBER 2” number 1 was the group that needs to learn how to swim and the other group is the people who already knows how to swim.

Later on we get to go into the pool so we can some have fun with the warm water. When I got into the water the water was so warm and wavy. We had 2 marvelous instructors that taught us lots of useful swimming tips and how to float on water.

The first thing Emma taught us was how to swim if you are in danger, second thing was to swim sideways and the last one was how to swim and paddle at the same time, but I already know how to swim and paddle, but she said that people don’t know how to swim and paddle when a shark is like attacking them.

That was the only thing that she taught us then today we are going to do more stuff with Emma!!!

MOTHERS DAY:)

I am going to write a descriptive writing about my

beautiful mother, my mother is a caring mother and a

loving mother.

When I see my mum she has long hair and brown eyes

she wears jeans a lot and long arm t shirts a lot. Also

when I see my mum she is a beautiful mother and a very

cool mother to live with.

When I hear her she yells and talks very quietly but she

yells a lot, when she yells at me i feel very sad and

angry I feel like running away but I still love her.

When she cooks dinner it tastes very delicious and

yummy and when she cooks my lunch she says does it

taste yum and then I answer politely yes.

Whenever my mum walks past me I smell from her

perfume and spray and when I smell it, it smells really

nice. Sometimes when she walks past me it smells really

bad but it is not from her it is from my brother

(SAMUEL).

My Mother is like no other, she gave me a life to live. There is not

enough words to describe but just how important my Mother was to

me and what a powerful influence. She is always going to continue to be a Mother.

Soul Friend Mass:)

This morning Room 7 and Room 4 went to mass so we can celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph. When we got to church we sat down with our lovely Soul Friends. 

My Soul Friend (Malia) was reading, so we went up to where we read, Malia read her part she told me that she was shy when she was reading her part. 

When we got off she wasn't shy anymore, she told me that she read her part but tried not to cry

When we sat down she was waiting until the mass is over so we can get out of here because Malia was hot.

Later on the mass was over and so then we went out of the church and went back to our classes with out Soul Friends to do activities with them.
